As a member of the Royal Naval Reserve (RNR) you could be giving vital logistical support to ship crews, sending detailed signal information to merchant shipping, or planning the landing of an amphibious task group.

Being a Royal Naval Reservist offers you a fantastic way of life. Where you’re financially rewarded for your commitment. Where you’re an indispensable part of the armed forces. Where you will almost certainly experience the excitement and responsibility of being deployed.

It takes dedication, ambition and enthusiasm but there is no better way to get a taste of a life without limits.

HMS Eaglet is the Royal Naval Reserve unit associated with Liverpool. The unit is immensely proud to continue the Royal Navy’s long maritime heritage on Merseyside.

Based within the superbly appointed Naval Regional Headquarters, the unit’s long association with Merseyside was formally recognised on May 2nd 1993: the unit was awarded the Freedom of Entry into the City of Liverpool.

When you’re looking for a challenge that pushes you to your limits, you couldn’t do better than completing the world’s toughest military training – and earning that coveted green beret.

As a Royal Marines Reservist you’ll be an elite member of about 600 people who combine their civilian jobs with serving as part-time, fully trained Commandos. Just like regular Royal Marines Commandos, you’ll learn to deploy your skills in any location, environment and terrain.

Once you have some experience you’ll have the chance to specialise in assault engineering, anti-tank warfare, signals and other skills turning you into one of the most elite sources of extra military strength in the world.

RMR Merseyside is based in central Liverpool and draws recruits from the North West, North Wales, the Midlands, Yorkshire and the Humber.

The main detachment is located alongside the HQ at Brunswick Dock, Liverpool. The remaining four detachments are based in Manchester, Birmingham, Nottingham and Leeds with representatives from Training Company based at each detachment.
