On Reserves Day, we invited supportive employers and staff from VIVO Defence Services from across our region to join for us a flag raising event at Altcar Training Camp in Merseyside. Cadets from Chesterfield High School, Crosby raised the flag to celebrate Armed Forces week and Reserves Day.
Following the flag raising, participants were invited to a guided tour of the camp by Colonel Mark Underhill (retired) Chief Executive, to provide further insights into site activity.
Mike Matthews, Senior Engineer from Bentley Motors stated: “We were delighted to join the NW RFCA today to show our respect and appreciation of the Armed Forces community here in the North West. We are attending various events to show our support for Armed Forces Week, including the Armed Forces weekend at Queens park in Crewe. We have recently achieved Bronze on the Employer Recognition Scheme and are aiming for Silver next year, we are dedicated to supporting those who serve and those who have served”.
In the North West, there are over 3000 Reservists who give up their spare time to serve in the Reserve Forces and are ready to support the military when needed. We thank you all for your support.
